Up The Punx

Busy as fuck

So I've been busy as shit lately working and moving so I haven't posted anything. Fortunately I've been able to ride my motorcycle a lot...unfortunately it's to and from work and it's getting colder than shit. It was in the 30s the other day. Oh well. Still love riding.

Ride In Peace Ron Felix

Ron is the father of one of my oldest friends, Jed Felix. I drove to Fargo for the funeral and burial this weekend. I spent all day and night on Saturday with Jed, his old lady Megan, and his mom and sister. All the while amongst other family and friends. We slept in today and Megan cooked Jed and I breakfast while we flipped through old copies of In The Wind. Before I knew it I was departing as fast as I had arrived. It was a good weekend even though it was under such undesirable circumstances. I heard story after story all weekend about Ron's life. Every one being better than the last. He was a biker in every sense of the word. I was lucky enough to get a couple pictures in his garage last night. The pic of him on the trike was taken in 1978.

I don't have a motorcycle right now.

Warren Sr. is doing a bit of valve work to my top end currently. Using this down time to do a bit of maintenance and part swaps to my bike. I've ridden it damn near every day for about 4 months now and it shows. Out with the old, in with the new.

I've also been looking at a lot of pics of choppers since I haven't been riding em. Here's a few favorites.

Davenport

Ralph and I rode 80 miles west at 3am Thursday night/Friday morning to jump in a car with our friend Josh who was going to Davenport. Left Madison at 5 am, got there at 8:30 or so. Bought a couple things, met a few people, shook hands, kissed babies, and were already gone by noon. We went back to Madison and Ralph and I did a bit of work and fixed an electrical issue on Josh's bike and then we went on a short ride in the country around Madison. We ate burritos and then Ralph got us lost in the city. Eventually I convinced him to let me lead and I led us back to Milwaukee safely. Wisconsin is beautiful, if you've never been here I recommend coming for a visit. We'll show you a good time, promise. Here's a pic of the gas tank I bought and a couple riding pics from the day.
